The Benson Area Medical Center transitioned to an electronic medical record just four months ago. This system will provide a better quality of care for our patients and allows us to more easily track and address patient needs. We hope that you notice an improvement in your individual patient experience. As always, let us know if you have any comments or suggestions.
We would also like to let you know about the new resources recently posted to our website. New patient forms have been added under the Forms tab. Completing these forms prior to your appointment will expedite your check-in process.
Lastly, we have also added a web-based patient satisfaction survey under the Contact Us tab. Feel free to voice any of your comments, suggestions, or concerns through this survey.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR OUR PATIENTS
ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS – beginning SEPT. 11, 2012!
As patients of BAMC, you and your family will soon notice some important changes when you visit our office. Starting on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, we will begin using an electronic health record for all patient visits, replacing paper charts for everyone.
Electronic Health Records (E.H.R.) will improve the quality of care, safety and satisfaction for our patients while eliminating burdens and inefficiencies of paper charts for our providers and staff.
Much preparation is now underway, to make this important transition a smooth one, for our providers and staff and for our patients. We wish to share with you, what to expect when you call or visit BAMC during the first few weeks of this important and complex project.
Fewer available appointments – Sept. 11 – Nov. 6
For the eight-week period of September 11 – November 6, 2012, our patient schedule must be modified, decreasing the number of patient visits each day. This is required so providers and staff have the extended time necessary to learn the electronic system, properly documenting each visit in a much different way. This will slow us down initially, and we are certain that taking this time in the beginning will prove worthwhile.
Your health remains a top priority for us and we will make every possible effort during this time, to accommodate sick patients and to schedule necessary follow up visits.
