Benson Area Medical Center, Inc. will file will file up to 2 claims per visit at no charge to the patient.
We are contracted with most insurance plans, and patients are urged to call their insurance company to verify this. Some of the major insurance plans we accept are:
- Blue Cross Blue Shield
- NC State Health Plan
- United Health Care
- Coventry Health Care
- First Health
MEDICAL ACCESS PLAN (MAP)
If you are uninsured, you may qualify for our Medical Access Plan. The Medical Access Plan (MAP) is a sliding fee scale program that helps residents of North Carolina access primary health care services when they meet certain financial criteria and do not have primary health care coverage. MAP is funded through the North Carolina Office of Rural Health and Community Care (NC ORHCC). Patients on the MAP program are expected to make the medical practice their primary care “home” and to use it for their primary care needs. Qualification is based on your family size and income. To qualify, call our billing department to set up an appointment to complete an application. You will need to bring the following information to your application appointment.
- Proof of income, for every household member. This may include:
- Three most recent paycheck stubs
- A copy of your current tax return
- Unemployment Information
- Social Security Income
- Child Support or Alimony
- Any other income
- Proof of residence. For example, a bill addressed to you sent by mail.
- A picture ID
